I've gone out a couple of times but not too "dedicated"...I generally stroll out to one of the spots we scouted out earlier and sit there for an hour tops. Not real early in the day, either...
The guy we're in the process of buying the property from came down day before opening day and brought a buddy along, we all went out to our respective spots and he shot a doe at about 8:30AM opening day and split the meat between us and his brother, so we've got a few roasts, a backstrap and a bunch of meat for jerky in the freezer, all the wife has to do is cook him up a venison steak and some fried taters when they come down on a weekend, as his wife won't let the stuff in their house, or even let him cook it in their kitchen. Works out well for us. I still have two tags to fill, the season rolls over into anterless only on the 25th and I still have alternative methods in December as well to fill those tags. Since all our "spots" are only about 3500 feet from the homestead, it shouldn't be a problem as long as I actually get out there...
