New to the forums here. I bought my first 91/30 during the great gun scare a few years ago and really took an interest in the old bolt action rifles. I got my first M91 in the fall of 2014, and have really taken a greater interest in all of the neat variations that exist--if I had enough money, I'd probably have a large room filled with Mosins. Wanted to post a new rifle that I just received. It's a Tula M91 in a Romanian Spliced stock. I bid on the rifle, and really didn't expect to win it. It's a 1924, and it's my second 1924 Tula M91. I really like the wood grain on this rifle, and the trigger is very nice as well. I don't know much of the history of the Romanian spliced-stocked rifles. Appears that the barrel bands were reblued, Magazine floor plate looks like it came from a 91/30. The rifle is still filled with cosmoline and will remain so if I cannot remove the rear barrel band...although I would like to clean it and shoot this one as it seems like it would be a good shooter. I don't have a problem just keeping it as a collectable though. I belong to a few other Mosin groups, so these photos may be a little redundant for some....I have seen some familiar names on here. Alright, I'm done with the intro, hope you enjoy the rifle. I can post some other rifle pics too if you all would like. I have a really neat Dragoon--which is my favorite. Also, have this M91's relative as well. The rest of my rifles are fairly common M91's and Finns.

Welcome to the board, go ahead and post the pictures, everybody loves milsurp pics around here :vcool: :vcool: :vcool: Nice examples so far, they all have history no matter if it a 1943 M91/30 , or a 1894 Chatellerault M91. Each is unique in it's own way.

Oh, the fore end has a piece of metal--rather than screws-- that was pounded into the arm to prevent the band from moving forward. I have the same problem on a Finn rifle.

Geez, sorry about the pics, I just saw what they look like, and it's hard to even see the details of the rifle. I guess I have to either make them smaller or post them inline?

just size them down to 640x480 before posting from your desktop, or link them in from a host site.

Thank you. It's my first post on the forum, but not my first Mosin. My first was/is a 1940's Izhevesk--just a Plain Jane 91/30 that I got a couple of years ago. My first M91 was/is a PL marked VKT I found on Facebook.

I got finished with HS last month. Their youth minister gave us some advice at our baccalaureate service.

Go as hard as you can, as deep as you can, for as long as you can. So that's what, fellas? Ten seconds, at most?

That being said, keep up the good work!
