Re: personal favorite it your collection?
I only have two a 91/30 and a M44. If I had to pick just one it would probably be the 91/30.
Re: personal favorite it your collection?
Tough call. I have one old M91 Russian receiver with a Remington barrel. Fascinating to think about the Finnish armorers digging through the piles of rifles and parts, and coming up with some glorious combinations. Some of the Finn rifles are major mixmasters. Resourcefulness at its finest!
GOOD RIDDANCE LGR!! If there isn't a gun range in heaven, then I'm going to hell.

My overall favorite is grandpa's Colt M1911A1 that he carried during the war as a naval aviator. My second favorite is my M1938 carbine.

Re: personal favorite it your collection?
Wow! Some very nice historical rifles in this thread. Thanks for sharing!
Mine would have to be a very decent Finned Remington M91 (1917) that is all matching with the serial numbers in five places, in it's original walnut stock and carrying a SA stamped tractor belt sling, but I also am fond of my Izhevsk 1941 that is typical of the hurried production after the German invasion. Rough on the outside but she's got a great bore.

If we are talking ANY rifle, not specific to Mosins, and it was a grab only one and run out the door SHTF kinda deal, I'd probably grab my Vepr .308.Mosin wise, my Remington M91/M38 (clone), or M39.

Re: personal favorite it your collection?
Favorite of all of them is hard also, but maybe one of my original (not repro) 1763 Charleville or Brown Bess would be in there.
If you are talking about Mosins, well still a hard one, but maybe My M39
My favorite (to shoot) is still my M1 Garand.
Favorite Mosin shooter is a M38
But how can you argue with a Bazooka?

Re: personal favorite it your collection?
My favorite is my LEO Colt M4/AR-15.
Re: personal favorite it your collection?
It would have to be my first - 1939 Tula M91/30 red letter with match bayo. Not only my first surplus gun, but the first time I fired a rifle larger than a .22. I still remember that first shot!
Re: personal favorite it your collection?
Well this one's easy. Its got to be my 'new' barreled 1944 Tikka 91/30 Round receiver, built on an M27 stock. Unusual in many ways the 'plumb' barrel is but one..

Re: personal favorite it your collection?
I have a very small collection, but my first Mosin is still my favorite: 1933-dated Tikka-barreled m/27 built at AV-1 in Helsinki on a 1904 Tula receiver. All-matching including winged bolt connector, and retains the pre-war walnut stain and copal lacquer wood finish.
