My new Star Super B

Post by iwuzwhatiwuz »

I drove up to AIM and picked up a Star Modelo Super B. I love the feel of an all medal pistol, especially if it's from the 1911's extended family! It's in great shape, with next to no hosted wear.

I'll give a range report after I shoot it in the morning.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I ran about 50rds through the Star this afternoon. Shot very well and is a sweet heart to shoot. With One mag it functioned 100% the other had a FTE every third round. It looks like it's feed lips are slightly wider and the out going round is hitting the next round in the mag which gums up the works. I'm going to call AIM in the morning and see what they want to do. Its quite accurate, I shot 1.5 inch 5 round groups at 25feet.

I like the Star pistols.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
