1931 Finnish M27
1931 Finnish M27
Another rifle from my little collection. 1931 Tikka M27, it looks like it has seen at least a bit of service in its life. It is an excellent shooter, very accurate and still has a great bore. Not exactly a collector's piece, but not ugly either. I love the look of old patina on rifles.

Nice one. Looks like your stock was built 1895. Very cool . Your pic of the winged bolt, does the bolt guide have a s/n ?

Yeah, not one that matches, though. The bolt itself is matching.

That year for some reason is very popular for M27 receivers? I have not a clue other than the war maybe? Bill81turbota wrote:Very nice rifle!

Very nice M27. Why do you say it is not a collector piece?

Well, on gunboards, a common belief is if you don't shoot for the best examples available, you are not a collector, but an acquirer. I don't believe that as I like some of my military weapons to be used by a military . I'm also too poor to.Longcolt44 wrote:Very nice M27. Why do you say it is not a collector piece?

I have many examples of nice milsurps that I don't shoot, as if I had time to shoot everything I own. It's OK to spout off that not a collector crap, but only if it's done right here in front of me to my face. Just so long as they please stay on the plastic when say it, the carpet is beige and shows stains too easily.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Now that is a gorgeous M27. I think that would definitely qualify as a collector piece. A M27 is still on my list

Nice rifle. I too like the patina'd metal. And... ANY M27 is a collectible M27!

How many M27's are still around? Compare to how many WWII M1's are still around. I agree, any M27 is a collectible M27.

Looks interesting to me. How about a muzzle end shot. Looks like it has the small bolt upgrade to stop the stock from splitting from bayonet use. I would say this is a nice version. Has a reused m91 stock and ski trooper set up swivels.
Bolt kind of like this one on a m24
