Birthday Mosin

Post by lalunette »

So... I'm 49 today and, to celebrate this milestone, I decided to pick up a Mosin.

I chose a nice 1940 round receiver Izhevsk.

Finish and bore is very nice.

Canadian Tire on McPhillips in Winnipeg wanted $174.99. No cosmo to remove and nicely oiled up.

Can't wait to take her out to the range.

Happy Birthday! That one looks to be in very good shape, pre war stock on it too right? Congrats!

1940....a year that has evaded me in the Mosin sense completely. Looks like a good one. At 49, you are only a little older than I am. Hopefully the years have treated you as well as they have me.

I like that 1940! Very nice condition! Your 34 Tula is nice as well. Congrats on turning 49 and a nice birthday gift to boot!

Yes, it is in good shape and, yes, it is a pre-war stock.

I took some more close-ups and will be posting those tonite probably, followed by a complete disassembly to give her a thorough check.

Cheers !!
