Depends upon the ammo fired. But if you put enough cleaner on your patch, and have run a wetted bore brush through first, and the bore was clean before, then 10 should be around the median number. It depends upon the number of rounds and how dirty the powder burns as to the exact number.

Most will tell you it takes as many patches until the patch comes out clean.
