Mosin Finn ?

Post by Jbob »

Took this one in on a trade and it arrived today. I was really shocked at how pretty the wood is on these rifles. I looked it over a long while before I even seen the finger splices where the wood comes together.
Bolt and receiver match with Izhevsk markings on everything, can't wait till weekend so I can shoot it after a good cleaning.
I'm just learning so any info would be of help.

From the pictures it looks like a Finn captured 91/30. The stock is a pre war Finn.

War time splice on a Finn stock. What is the date? 1941? Old eyes can't make it out sorry. Cleaning rod is a bit too short, what does it measure end to end? If it is what I think it is I will trade even up for the proper one which I have. Very nice rifle which saw Finn refurb at the end of the war period. Bet the bore looks great, they usually do with a rifle in that good a condition. Have fun shooting it! Oh and Congrats a nice addition. Bill ;mywink;

That should be highly accurate by Mosin standards and should be easily worth more than 350-400 in today's market. Good find!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I concur, beautiful stock.

As well as rifle condition, but I love the hardware, aka wood, and you've got a nice piece there. :thumbsup:
