Russina Song about the Mosin Nagant

Post by drumheller »

Just getting picked up my 1st Mosin and have been having fun doing research. I came across this blog that had a video of early Nagants in action along a Russian song about the rifle playing in the background.
Russin Mosin Nagant song
Even a couple of comrade cuties with their scoped Mosins!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Cool video. Wish i knew what he was saying. Maybe something like "Superior Mosin rifle will stop the Facist invaders".

I like the still shot of the parade towards the end. You could tell they were combat soldiers told to clean up, line up and march. Ragged line, heads facing every which way and them all thinking "You know as soon as the Kommisar that we are doing this for gets tired of watching us march, we can go get drunk for a couple of hours. Maybe talk to that cute blond we saw, the one with the big........ boots" :big shock: :chuckles:

They didn't march as precisely as the robotic looking goose stepping invaders did but they made up for it in numbers.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

you know, like NASCAR drivers, so we could

I see things like this now and I wonder, how many of those guns in the pictures/videos, are in our closets?

If you guys are curious, I'll translate the song for you.. Russian and English have very different grammatical structures, and I will keep it as close to the Russian wording as possible, so it will come off crude..

From the South to the Urals you and I marched
the partisan's path with me.
And there were times when many an enemy fell where you and I went through

(Then the chorus goes)

Strike, my rifle.. accurately and knowingly
With no mercy for the enemy
And I, my rifle, will help you with my sharp saber.

And even now you are still the same, vigilant by day and night
On the border line
We see the enemy's tracks and catch their every stir
We know all of our enemy's tricks

Chorus

Understandable, that the enemy is angry
The border is under lock
We will never retreat
There is no greater honor, we will remain together
In our dear army, forever

Chorus

We are ready for battle with anybody
We are not new to war
The two of us will fight together, you and I
We're used to winning together
