Is this a SCW Mosin nagant 91/30?

It's a 1937 Iveshek round receiver it's only matching on the barrel and magazine plate. The stock and bolt is mostly Tula. There is no Import stamps anywhere. I've looked at serial number and it falls in the range of rifles that went to Spain. What do y'all think?

I would say yes, you checked the s/n and the wire hangers are pretty much a giveaway.
Congrats nice find.

Yes would be my thought as well.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

so is $212 a good price?
Re: Is this a SCW Mosin nagant 91/30?
Looks like it to me. It appears that the front one was broke while being taken off, very common on the Spanish rifles. Price is fair but not a steal. ![thumbsup ](./images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I would say a good price as I have never ran across one and I have kept an eye out.

Looks SCW, but the stock also looks like it might be refinished, which will kill it's value so proceed carefully. ![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/2cents.gif)

This has been the only one I've seen. I can post more pictures to help too see if it's is. I know very little with these rifles so I don't know if has or hasn't it's the way I got it from the pawn shop.

1st thing you need to do is get a camera for your pics, (even a cheap camera takes better pics than a phone). Then get some pics of the stock, perferable in natural light and post them up. It isn't uncommon to find SCW rifles with refinished or bubba'ed stocks since that was all the rage when then where imported back in the late 50's

I have to say, I think you got a nice piece of history. I remember seeing some of these a few years back with the Made in USSR stamped on the receiver and they were cheap- just no extra interest, but that's not so anymore. Hopefully it isn't refinished, but some of these are in rough stocks and some guys think that they just must "fix" it.

No offense to Miller Tyme I think the photos give it the look that it has been refinished. It doesn't really have the gloss that picture shows it with. It's actually has a very flat finish.

No offense taken, that is why you need to get pics with a camera, phones just dont get sharp enough pics to make good determinations.VKT1941 wrote:No offense to Miller Tyme I think the photos give it the look that it has been refinished.
