Real nice 1893 Turkish Mauser

Post by Junk Yard Dog »

This Turk Mauser is built on the 1893 Mauser receiver, the ring has been cutout to allow the use of 7.92mm ammo rather than the original 7.65. This Turk has it all, beautiful patina on the wood and metal, matching numbers, even the bolt, spotless bore and unbuggered crown. Passes headspace like the day it was made, stock is rock solid, I did have to repair the usual handguard crack. I hadn't planned to add any more Turk Mauser's to the collection, but I didn't have any with a matching bolt so I figured what the hell. The stock has that nice solid feel to it these Turks always seem to have, probably the nicest Turk I have come across. The same seller has another almost like it, and I am tempted....so tempted.....:)

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Might have to take my turk out of the safe and put a few rounds down range today after seeing that. Edit: after looking outside the weather has gone a bit bad and is now incredibly windy sooo maybe tomorrow!

Wonderful looking rifle, something about these Turk mausers is just really awesome.
