I will get some pics inside the reciever/chamber and of the bore tomorrow of the 91/59. Sorry but it got to late today from chasing down a Remington 513T Matchmaster ... turned out to be a civilian model and not the US Property I have been looking for. I still bought it for $150 since you can't go wrong with a heavy barrel .22 made in 1953.Sgt. Rob wrote:Anychance we could see some pics inside the action? BTW, that would be my 91/59 grail. Tula and sniper marked!!

Here are they are ...
Chamber

Bore
Serial on the side of the stock ... doesn't match barrel
This is wierd also, the serial stamped on the side of the receiver doesn't match the barrel. It's NR 259 instead of HP 259 ?? I thought these where the importer's serial number ?

Looks like they drew a line through the stock serial number
Nice So, we know it never had a scope mounted but that doesn't mean that it wasn't selected but for some reason wasn't completed You should be glad. If they had done this, you wouldn't have a 91/59 with this receiver/barrel. It wouldn't exist, so you wouldn't even have the 91/59. It would probably be sitting in a crate over at RGUNS. OK, I'm getting a headache thinking about this. Sort of like going back in history and killing your grandfather

Re: '43 Tula 91/59 ... Accuracy Rifle ?
I think the "HP" is cyrillic, and the "NR" is the importers attempt to translate the serial number to english.
One could go crazy trying to figure out why it was not snipered after being selected for it. But I have seen regular Tula 91/30's marked as well that did not get the final go ahead either. Very unique as I think this is the first 91/59 I have seen like this.
