This old gal currently resides with another forum member, but it's the rifle that started me into more advanced collecting.

I never got a consensus on this one. Most leaned towards SCW, but it's one of oddest mosins I ever purchased. 1924 Izhevsk dragoon. Matching except bolt. The fonts on the matching parts appeared to be the same. 1924 Izhevsk receiver, solid barrel bands, wire rear hanger. No import marks. Here's the odd part. A shellac job that was a dead ringer for the current refurbs, complete with flaking. But the finish appeared much older. No USSR stamps or anything.

My first SCW is a 1935 Tula with the heavily sanded stock, Made in USSR stamp and a remaining wire hanger.
The second is a 1924 Izhevsk unconverted Dragoon, with cleaning rod, Made in USSR stamp and both sling hangers.

If you want to see some primo examples of SCW rifles, go take a look in the Mosin Showcase, right here on the forums.
Psst. I'm partial to this one.
