I think this means that Mosins, in a few years, especially the more rare variants, may end up being worth a lot of money. The guy definitely overpaid but in a few years, he may discover that he has made a good investment.

If the auction is over post a link to it. I am betting yes that there was one that went for more.

"All joking aside I would rather have Martin's over the one that sold in auction."

Reading that I would be installing extra security around that rifle.

Just put an armed guard on duty. Thanks for the suggestion!

I am so glad I am too broke to pay attention right now I might have pulled a sandbag bid on this one :Drool2:
As they say the pen is mightier than the sword...however that also means the pen is far more dangerous than the sword. The sword can take your life or your limb but can not take your freedom, the pen can. A wary patriot watches the pen as it can steal his freedom. The wary patriot knows he can use the pen to take power from those who wish to use the pen for evil, but keeps his rifle close by his side "just in case"!

The question was has any MN ever gone for more than $3000.00+, Finn captured PU's can be gotten for between $2500/2800.

Where? :D

The last Finnish capture PU I saw for outright sale was in 2011 for $3000 plus shipping, I can't say if it sold for that.

Seems that since there are less of them they should be worth more than the more common Finnish used PE's and PEM's, maybe we are taking into consideration the optics (that are added stateside) for the latter that are harder to find and more expensive than for the PU, I would suggest that the base rifle as imported should cost more than its predecessors.
