My First M1895 Nagant

Post by Capybara »

1944 Izhevsk M1895 Nagant, my first one. Bought it private party in Arizona the other day, it basically looks like a brand new gun, got it for $149.00. Looking forward to shooting it. The bore is like a mirror, can't believe the shape this thing is in.

Very nice and at a great price. If you dont already have some get some surplus ammo for your Nagant. It is much better than the commercially made ammunition.

The guy I bought it from also had a wooden grip one but the sides and backstrap were mismatched, I thought this one looked better.

I like the BATFE markings on yours as well. Not overdone
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

That 1895 one is in nice shape, I passed on that Bakelite grip when looking at a few, thinking perhaps I should have taken that over wood. Shooting it, be ready for "Dirty Harry" kind of recoil with those Nagant revolvers.

It looks like thet took a brand spanking new revolver and import stamped it, and sent it straight to your front door. This is super nice!

An Izhevsk, very nice! I would love one of those to go with my Tula but have never seen one for sale.

I shot mine in an untimed steel target match once using Soviet ammo in a yellow box. I wish I still had some. I finished in the top ten out of thirty some shooters. You'll like shooting it. Very nice one you got.
