Kivääri M39 SAKO 1942

Post by Junk Yard Dog »

Suojeluskuntain Ase-ja Konepaja Osakeyhtio M39 made in 1942, a dark rifle for a dark year in human history. How many coats of Finn wax and how many nights spent raosting close to a wood fire does it take to darken a rifle stock to the point that this one has reached, probably best we don't find out. Wartime stock of course, and one without cracks or other issues, it's got the typical shims under the action, and a trigger better than most of the other rifles I own ( except the other Finns) Original sling, and bluing worn almost totaly to silver. Spotless bore, perfect crown, and a great shooter even with me behind the trigger. Continuation war rifle, if history had actual weight rifles like this would fall through the floor.

I love the variations in the stock... A real fine example. 8-) :toast:

Thanks Ron, I get a kick out of how Burns underprices any M39 that looks like this one, even more so if there is a stock crack. They are all perfect inside, and these are the best looking of the rifles, this is what a milsurp that fought a war is supposed to look like. These are the ones I would have paid more for

Nice! Lots of good character on that one.

Cool backdrop in the photo.
