Am I correct, enfield no 1 mk 3* .....anyway to tell the year of manufacture (1946?)

I'm guessing it went through a Factory Thorough Repair in 1946. Why just a FR instead of a FTR, I'm not sure. Flip the buttsocket over and you should find the original date and crest.

I think Ishapore did the FR markings, I could be wrong though.

Marks should be on the other side of the receiver. :thumbsup:

There are no markings on the other side.

GRI is the Ishapore rifle factory in India, it would have to pre-date 1949 being stamped GRI, '46 sounds right for manufacture.

Some rifles were scrubbed and sent to india. This could be one of those. They were sent all over to other places though as well. :thumbsup:
