I got some of it in a package deal recently, but I haven't shot any of it yet. Let us know how it groups for you. The 86 BXN Czech surplus has been my most accurate. Shrunk some of my groups with Russian and Bulgarian in half.

And here are the pics...
It's a cardboard box.
With more boxes inside.
And inside each box there are 20 rounds.
Close-up.
Closer.
And now everything is safely tucked away in my safe.
Each round has the number 19 and the number 67 on the base. Production year ??
Also, they all seem to have some red on them. Anyone know why?
Oh, BTW, I loaded some stripper clips and tried loading (without the bolt) with one. It worked just fine.
Cheers !!

I hail from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I'm right above North Dakota... about an hour or so away from the border or 2.5 hours straight north of Grand Forks.Longcolt44 wrote:They are in lovely downtown Canada, home of the $250.00 SVT 40.

Re: Chinese 7.62x54r milsurp
I shot some of it back in the 90's, and have a good bit of it in the ammo collection. I found it no better or worse than any other commie ammo.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Goodies in the box? Do you mean the red box?54r man wrote:The red stuff is primer and neck sealant, I also spy other goodies in that box?
Yes, I bought an LER Bushnell scope for the ridiculous price of $94 at Wholesale Sports.
I figure my Tula will remain "unscoped" until I learn to shoot it well with just iron sights.
I bought an S&K scope mount so I can scope my vintovka without permanently altering it later on if I want.
