Russian m44 1945 Iveshek

This is my first M44 I bought it locally from a guy who bought it from century put them in his gun safe and never messed with it. I think it's never been refurbished I see no metal refurbishment marks and no stock refurbishment mark. The metal is a whole lot better shape then the wood. It definitely has the been there and done that look. It's all matching but the bolt is electro penciled in.

Nice one VKT :thumbsup: I like that look, prolly seen some action some where. As for not ever being refurbed I would agree with you except for ep'd bolt, I believe those were done at some stage of re-furb. Some of the experts should come along shorty and let us know. Still a nice carbine :vcool: :vcool:

Congrats on your first M44. Make some big BOOMS with it!


Most assuredly a refurbishment, even without the usual X or [/] marks. The electropenciled bolt, and the different font on the buttplate mean that they have been re-numbered to match the barrel number.

No less of a gun, though. Still makes a person feel good to hold some powerful history.

Yeah it does make some big booms. Shot it at 10 and there was a huge fireball it was awesome. We're some refurb given to other countries for aid rifles?

Yes. For the M44, Yugoslavia and Romania come to mind right away.

$175 is a good deal :thumbsup: these usually go for $200 and up.

Could have been refurbished and then re-issued. I have a few like that that came right out of the crate from Russia. One is "beat to heck" worse that yours is, so naturally, I had to have it! :bwink:


Nice looking M44 I think. That is closer to what they probably looked like at the end of the war. :thumbsup:
