42 Izhevsk PU sniper

Post by Miller Tyme »

I had heard some rumblings toward the end of last year that Aim might be getting in another batch of Molot PU snipers, Having missed out on getting a 42 last time I decided not to let the opportunity pass me by again. So when then posted that they had 14 1942 PU's for sale back in January I ordered one as fast as I could. After recieving it I gave it a good once over and I am quite pleased with it, great bore, clear scope, rifle stamped for the scope and stamped matching except for the mag that was lined out and re-stamped. All and All, well worth the coin, now if I can find one of the elusive 42 Tula PU's.

Call them. If you can get through to them they might make you one.

Only if they go back in time, ....after reserching these Molots and looking at all the evidence I beleive these to be legit, and so do some experts who have purchased these for there collections.

What about experts who have not purchased one so don't have anything to gain and therefore have an unbiased opinion?

I'll admit, the PU sniper is just not very high on my must have list... Pretty low actually. But I must say that one looks nice.

 I have one PU and called it good after that, Somebody on this board said they were planning on acquiring Molots new made scoped Mosin, but I haven't heard any more about it. It was an odd looking beast, longer barrel, redesigned scope mount and scope. Can't help much with the '42 Tula PU, there may be one on the board, but I haven't kept track.

Show me a sniper expert that has said they are not legit......I think when collectors like Vic and Tuco, 2 of the most knowlegable experts when it comes to Mosin Nagant snipers, give them the thumbs up and put there money where there mouth is it says a lot for the integrity of these rifles.

Has Karl-Heinz offered up an opinion on the Molots yet? I have lost track of him since the days of the old board.

I want a sniper but I want to make sure it is legit. I do not know if molots are, they sure look ok but some of their other rifles don't. If molot is going to do what Mitchel mausers did, then I dont want anything to do with them because I cant trust them.

anybody know why some Molots have electro pencil #s on the scope mount and some do not. my 1944 TULA has a line out # on the scope mount and the rifle # 43 stamped on it. no electro pencil.
