1942 Finnish Tikka Mosin Nagant
1942 Finnish Tikka Mosin Nagant
Bought this at a pawn shop a few weeks ago up here in Canada for $200. Thought I'd share some pic's. I'd like to know if the eagle is Russian or Austrian and what the G 3 underneath the eagle means. ![pointdown ](./images/smilies/point_down.gif)

That was one hell of a good price, I have two, including a 1942 like this one and both are exceptional shooters. I don't recall anything about the G3
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

The eagle is Russian. The 'G' is not (there is no 'G' in the Cyrillic alphabet).
The 'G' looks a little crude. I have seen many other letters, but not 'G's?

Karl-Heinz Wrobel lists the 'G' on Finnish M91's as: "Finnish possibly Balkan."
So, either the Finns acquired this receiver from their purchases abroad and it was already so stamped, or they stamped it thus, themselves.

Wow, very nice, and about half of what we would likely pay, and without a bayonet.
