Mosin M44 for $500
Mosin M44 for $500
If this is in the wrong place then feel free to move it. Just ran across this on Armslist, it's too rich for me and I'm not even for SURE what it is, but have an inkling it may very well be worth that price especially with over 1000 rounds of ammo. Feel free to jump on it if it tickles you in the right place as it's out of my price range!

No ordinary M44 unless I'm grossly mistaken. Looks like a Finn to me, but I've never seen a carbine version.

I have no idea. No bayonet lug, looks like a Finn front sight, but I'm not up on the Finn receiver stampings
Re: Mosin M44 for $500
Are M39's barrels halfway in length between the M91/30 and M44? Don't know almost anything about them, and I've never seen an M39 with a straight stock before.cjo1971 wrote:Finn m39

Re: Mosin M44 for $500
If you figure $200 for the ammo he has, that's only $300 for the rifle. Should have played the lottery, maybe I'd have a couple mill to play with now...
Re: Mosin M44 for $500
Some m39s have straight stocks

looks like a straight stock M39 to me.

It's a M39 Sako straight stock from 1941.
Re: Mosin M44 for $500
Isn't that a little late for an original straight stock? Duh, edit. I just blew the photo up and saw its 41. Anywho, good deal with the ammo.

No, Straight stocks were put on 1941 Sako rifle at the very beginning of issue for M39'sredeuce wrote:Isn't that a little late for an original straight stock?
You may be reading the date wrong. It is 1941...not 1944. A very common mistake. Look at the serial numbers 204,xxx is very early M39

M39 sako. They measure about 46 1/2 I think. Bout 2 inches shorter then a 91/30.

Yep, Sako M-39 with straight stock. Rifle would probably go for $500 by itself - maybe... I wonder about the condition of the rifle and how well it has been taken care of. This M-44 is a blast to shoot .

+1 Wish I lived close. Would love to have a look at that one. Pretty good deal, especially for a straight stock if it's in good condition.dolk wrote:No, Straight stocks were put on 1941 Sako rifle at the very beginning of issue for M39'sredeuce wrote:Isn't that a little late for an original straight stock?

It looks like a good deal with the ammo included.
