Bolt question with picture

Post by Chrome Moly Vampire »

The bolt on the right doesn't have the checkered pattern all the way around. Is this just a variation? Early bolt part? Late? I couldn't find the answer anywhere else online and I knew you guys would know.

Thanks in advance.

Just an older variation.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Thank you sir.

By the way, I will never, ever, ever, ever alter any of my Mosins. That would be like putting a bra on a Sphinx. Maybe a stir stick on the front sight, but that's it. I hope cleaning doesn't count against me.

Better **** well not because I cleaned all of mine :) Dents, dings, scrapes, or no finish I expect, even like the look of, but filth I will not abide. Bad for the rifle, bad for my clothing.
