Here is the full movie dubbed in English, they don't seem to have the German version on youtube, I have it on DVD, and VHS.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

They're not bad and tend to focus more on the misery of a few characters. I'm a bit of a movie buff and like almost all of the foreign made war movies. If you can find them used or under $15 each you won't walk away feeling burned. They are definitely not "Hollywood slick" and don't have massive and expensive battle scenes etc but in a way I kind of like that.

For an interesting look at one of Russia's finest actors/directors you might want to check out this:

The first movie doesn't really deal about war but rather the purges by Stalin of his most experienced Generals. The second part deals with one of these Generals who escaped the purges and is thrust into combat. There are some great battle scenes in it and I believe at the time it was the most expensive Russian movie of all time to film. The lead actor is also the director and is a bit of a polarizing figure among Russians. He's quite egotistical but imo he ranks right up there with some of the best American actors of our day.

Heck, now that I think about it, you might be able to find some of these movies for free on YouTube as I know that there are quite a few Finn movies up there for free that deal with the Winter & Continuation Wars. Hope this helped.

I watched the original trailer, This is one that I'll spring the $$ to see in the theaters as oppossed to waiting for Cable or disc.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

If you have Netflix there are seven different movies that deal with Stalingrad. Just put, "Stalingrad", in the search box to see them.

I have seen Das Boot so many times that I don't even have to look at the subtitles anymore, pretty much like with The Winter War .
