Reasonable Replicas??
Reasonable Replicas??
The last couple of months I've found myself interested in black powder replica pistols. They just seem to be plentiful & reasonably priced these days...maybe??
Plus they are a 'blast' too!
Here's a couple of 'em that are almost like new....
A Pietta 1851 Navy .44 (dating to the 1990s...I think)
A CVA Colt Walker .44 (from the 1970s...maybe...not sure who made it)

Very nice, I have a collection of these as well, the pics are someplace in the BP forum.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Reasonable Replicas??
Hell of a lot more fun to shoot a $400 replica than a $50,000 original, no worries about damage, or at least a lot less.

DROOL! Excellent! have fun with them, they are a blast. Some personal advice: do NOT try to see how far you can take it with the Walker....

60 grains or a full chamber was the maximum load back in the day, that is similar to the rifle/musket load of the time, only more powerful if you are using FFFG rather than the rifles FFG

Nice looking pistols. I have an 1851 Navy .44 cal. Fun to shoot, although it has been a while since I shot it.
