first pics!
Re: first pics!
You really have no idea what you have found do you??? The carbine is a Romanian M44 that is instructie marked ..Way way cool . And the long rifle is a VERY early , unrefurbed , 1904 Izhevsk ex dragoon. Finding one of those two rifles is remarkable , finding both is unheard of.. Go buy a powerball ticket...

You my friend, better buy that lottery ticket
Re: first pics!
hahahah its a shame they would be in better shape but he didnt care for them and they sat in a closet for years with the butts against a cement floor but they could be a LOT worse id rate them at a 7/10 ish
Re: first pics!
Your friend did you a favor as any refinishing would surely ruin there value. A good cleaning is likely in order for them both but other than that I would leave them as they are. Give the metal a good cleaning and a coat of oil and simply wipe the stocks with a bit of lemon oil..

Stop the presses! You did really good. Definitely don't want to put anything stronger thn a good gun cleaning and oiling on them. Any attempt to sand, or refinish will turn them back into 40 dollar rifles. Good score.
Re: first pics!
Beautiful rifle! I'd buy it for triple what you paid for it.. what time do you want me over to pick it up?mitch5690 wrote:I paid fourty bucks for both of them bahaha

Oh, I'm totally serious.. Only had my first Mosin since last Friday, but the Mosinitis has fully set it... That 1904 is pretty much exactly what I said I want as my next Mosin, in my intro thread.. I'd easily quadrouple what you paid just for that one!Lotema wrote:Beautiful rifle!
