1943 Izhevsk Sniper

Post by mmcghee6 »

Here are pics that I mention in the other thread on potential sniper I might be able to get my hands on.. sorry not the best pics but the best i could get from the owner. Feedback is appreciated. I thought the mark on receiver was refurb mark but it doesn't look like it... ? A couple more pics to follow...
I know that the parts are not matching... overall the stock did not seem to be refurbished or at not at all recently.. Let me know if more detailed pics are needed or would help and I will try to get owner to send. Just trying to get an idea of a fair market value. Thanks for tolerating the newbie! :pointleft:
Barrel was shiny with good rifling but did not check for counterboring.

From what I can see it looks good. But not definate. What is the import mark? The scope looks legit as does some other stuff. But like they said, most faked Mosin out there.

How much is he wanting for it? Asking because it is another sign.

The mounting screws, brackets and any stampings. The import stamps. C.A.I. made these up from parts, so did Molot. The only confirmed importer, at this point in time, is Rguns. Authentic snipers run from $800.00 and up. Those found at big box stores for around $500.00 are what we call fake snipers made from real or new manufactures parts. What is he asking for it?

Is there a scope number on the left side of the receiver?

welll, pretty obvious to me that it's a made up one.. mount isn't correct and receiver finish isn't either. Pretty rare original sniper scope, but the mount makes it an easy one to identify as a non original PU sniper.

That's the first thing that jumped out to me. The scope mount is a reproduction. Doubled bolted caps instead of pinch mounts.

If you want the real thing RGuns still has them for $800.

Do they sell directly to a C&R holder and do they have an option to hand select?
I think this is the way i am going to go because it is so hard sorting through all the fakes sold on the web.
