Gun Show today

Post by mmcghee6 »

Picked up a non refurb Finnish capture.. photos to follow! But I also still have opportunity to pickup a Izhevsk 1943, non matchingparts, sniper rifle. It does not look like a refurb and has medium wear on stock with a bright shinny barrel. Any thoughts on what a fair market value might be?

Really hard to say without further description and pictures... Could be the real deal if it has very early import markings or none at all. Pictures are a must.

Does it have an SA stamp?
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Finn capture, they replaced the front sight as well.
Probably refurbed in the field and issued.

I think this is becoming a more common price these days, and long after the memory of 275.00 is gone, you will still have your nice rifle. Congrats. I think you are going to like it.

I have a similar Finn 91/30 that is a total joy to take to the range. I was looking over my 2 Finn M1891's, the only 91's I have, and realized that I have never taken them out to shoot. One of them I have not even cleaned, but then again I did wipe it down with a little oil. Just having them to hold and study is the joy of it all.
