That ammo is discussed here. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1385
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

ImageI bought a single box of this ammo awhile back for the low recoil so I would have it in case the opportunity came up for my wife to try the Mosin. I found the single box on Gunbroker but if it's available in bulk here I want to buy some more while it's available.8-)

I have an ammo can stuffed full of Swedish gallery loads, but so far no Mosin ones have come my way.

This 46 grn stuff is fun, and good for easing noobs into milsurps...you should give some of it a try!

If you mean a "mess" as in needing to be cleaned as with any other 'corrosive' ammunition, the answer is yes. You are not shooting a sub caliber round but a lighter than 'normal' projectile
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

popgun, the 46gr ammo(as mentioned in the other thread about it) is milsurp training ammo. The casing and powder characteristics are the same as regular milsurp 7.62x54r. It is fairly accurate out to 100M or so and has very little recoil. Made to help recruits get used to firing the rifle correctly before moving up to the real stuff and having to deal with recoil. It was also cheaper to produce. Should be treated as any other corrosive ammo would be.

Somebody else had this stuff not too long ago(last I checked). I think it was Widener's and Sportsman's Guide. Maybe Dan's Ammo as well.

I got 108 rounds of this ammo for Xmas, and I got to shoot some of it yesterday. It works just fine in the 91/30 and it was the first ammo I put through mu "new" gun. It worked just fine, so I have no complaints. I would buy this again. :popgun:

$120 for 504 rounds?????? I paid less than that 5 years ago for over 1,000 rounds. But in today's prices that's not too bad I guess.

Yeah Ron but you get a nifty .50 Cal ammo can too. That and he seems to be the only one selling this stuff that I've found.

There is that. If I didn't already have some I would be moving hard on that deal. It's great ammo. And just think; In five more years it will cost you half again as much. Buy it cheap, stack it deep. 8-)
