The 3 "Evil Sisters"

Post by Miller Tyme »

Besides Mosin Nagants I do find time to collect other types of firearms, case in point, what my wife refers to as the "Evil Sisters", my Romanian FPK, my Yugoslavian M76, and my Russian SVD Tiger.

Shes right, what are you down in the crypt tonight? Again with the shadow pics, I just got the shivers and had to turn on another light. :)

Very Nice. How do they shoot?
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

The FPK shoots nice, likes 147 gr LB ammo, but will string shots vertically as the barrel heats up if you run the rounds through it fast, the barrel needed to be thicker.
The M76 is a dream to shoot and will run any 8mm ammo but it likes the Yugo 196gr HB ammo the best, its only draw back is 8mm ammo is getting pricey
The SVD tiger is a dream boat, good combo of weight and length, loves 7N1 ammo ( pricey) but functions great at most range lengths on 147 gr LB ammo

The bargin of the group was the FPK, but the recent drying up of the supply means what was a $600.00 rifle 3 years ago is passing $1200.00 used. The M76 is not much more expensive and a better made rifle with a heavier barrel, a great gun for the money. But the SVD is the "sexy Italian sports car" of the group, gets all the attention at the range, and is just a fun rifle to shoot but the prices on them in SVD furniture are approaching the $4000.00 mark

There is a beautiful M76 on GB at what I consider a reasonable price, but more than I can afford. I really like yours though

Wow. Tigers are so seldom seen because of the cost, but really, they are the 69 GTO JUDGE of all semi auto lock n load fun guns in my opinion. Not a bad 401k trio you have there.
