The yellow stuff probably, works well, but not quickly, give it a few days just to be sure.

Give it at least twice as long as the bottle says. You can't let it go too long.

That's not the same stuff I had 30 years ago, must have upgraded it a bit. I will have to try some.

I tend to have problems with crazy glue, I end up with stuff glued to me.

I fixed my Albanian SKS with that glue and it worked fine. Make sure you can clamp it in exactly the right position when it is dry, then glue it, clamp it, not too tight, just snug, and wipe off any excess with a wet sponge, then leave it alone. If you missed any glue, you can use the edge of a razor blade like a wood scraper. Hold it perpendicular to the wood and gently remove any glue you missed. This is a real "less is more" moment, take your time.

Not instant bond is a good thing, gives you time to correct your sloppy errors, and wash your hands.

yeah I was swearing a little bit at the point where the glue was oozing out lol I squeezed the glue in then squeezed it together with my hands, wiped the glue out then clamped it...this is the point where I was swearing a little because the glue was seeping onto one of the clamps and was also seeping into the inner area of the stock where the crack was. Needless to say I ended up getting some on my shirt and got it all over my hands :) but I was able to clean up any excess fairly quickly and more importantly before it dried. So it has a couple clamps on it now, been clamped since noontime Thurday so I'm thinking it should be good to go midday Saturday.

Let it go until Monday, no rush is there? If it's like the old Elmer's then it needs that extra time, it's water based and takes longer to dry without the chemicals in it the kids like to huff.
