My "new" Hex 91/30 from AIM....
Very excited to hear my Hex was delivered to the gun shop today! Please... tell me what I have!! I took pics of every distinguishable marking. All serials match from what i can tell. What is with the magazine serial# and the one that has a line through it?
Thanks in advance for all the information you all can provide about my rifles origin!

You are now the proud owner of a 1934 izhevsk. The line through the mag floor plate was done during refurbishment and is called a force match. sometimes they would grind the old number off, other times just line it out like yours. Enjoy it!

Hello And welcome to the group !!!! Next Hex I have been watching Aim daily and have seen anything available lately. When did you order it ?
I recently got a new 91/30 round from Buds, and was hoping for a hex at a good price.
Again Welcome !!! Jim

My first 91/30 was a Finn captured Soviet 1934 Izhevsk, very nice, I see some unknown markings on there, unknown because the Russians don't share what they are with us. This is a post WW2 Soviet refurbished rifle from the Ukrainian hoard.

I like it. Has some nice patina on it already.

Thanks for the warm welcome and all the info! I'm sure this won't be my last purchase... still waiting on my wideners m44. I'll probably end up getting a round receiver 91/30 whenever one becomes available.

cornflakes-- Take a cartridge an stick the bullet end into the crown, it should only go no further than the widest part of the bullet, if it's not counterbored. Really does not matter. If it is, it's totally useless and you should send it to me !!! I will pay the postage

See my latest M38 video for a demonstration on how to tell if you have a counterbore, it's on the Mosin forum.

Very nice rifle , am going for a my second hex Saturday and now since ya mentioned getting a round receiver I may get a 3rd , I blame you..
Um ok just got confused on ex dragoon , its a 1934 , I thought the ex dragoons were pre 1930's hence the updating them to 91/30 , could that be a replacement rear sight due to battle damage? Sorry still new on all this
