Brass stacker butt stock cover

Post by warhawk77 »

Does any one have one of these?

http://brassstacker.com/butt-stock-ammo-carriers/

It looks nice but there are a few issues.

Price $95 is kinda high for me.
The raised cheap rest is not really needed with iron sites

I'm thinking if I pick up some leather I could make a very simple wrap and maybe put some loops on the side for 5 rounds. So for $20-30 I could dress up the mosin a little with no lasting effect.

I think it looks like a 3 ft. high aluminum spoiler on the back of a rusty, 10 yr. old neon.....not.. just kdn. Stock pouches are ok I have one, the canvas type for the M1 carbine.

Their price is nuts but I still think it looks cool. Now if I make one and install it, it might not be near as cool but I will be out a few bucks and would learn a new skill.

Leatherworking is not as easy as it looks, good luck, start some holsters maybe, you can sell them to Deputy for his 10 Nagant revolvers :)

One more piece of leather gear means one more thing to woprry will grown mold when stored away, something to think about if you live in a damp area.

Hey Folks,

I bought one of these made out of balistic nylon cordura material, they work pretty well and it has a zippered pouch on it that can hold a bore snake and bolt tool etc.. plus the ammo loops that hold 5 rounds,,,, mine was like 9.00 and has held up just fine,,,, used it on my SKS when in the field. Best part is it isn't a perm modification ,bad part could be that's its just more junk to strap on a rifle that isn't nessessary,,, the price for that one in leather seems real high to me, i could never justify paying that myself but YMMV.

I have a range bag that works just fine and doubles as a bench rest.

Here's one idea if you're looking for a simple and inexpensive, but quality product. Strikehard Gear's Mosin Nagant Buttstock Pouch.

Strikehard Gear - MN Pouch

I have one in OD Green. Very durable. Holds two stripper clips very easily. It is ambidextrous. I'll post pics later of mine.

That reminds me of the M1 Carbine stock pouch, just made wider.

Thanks that looks pretty nice. The price isn't too bad.
