I thought it might be the end last night about 21:00. Wind was blowing about 35 mph and it was raining hard. lights flickered a dozen times and then went out. My first thought was "Damn Mayans can't get it right. They're 3 hours early". Power came back on at about 00:45. Problem was a tree blown down across the lines.

It's only 8PM here on the West Coast. California might still fall into the ocean. Then Jerry Brown can add another new tax.

JYD, I remember a photo that you posted of a group of mosins stacked up together in a pyramid. Add some snow, garland and lights to them and they would make a great christmas tree. :D

Great idea, but that involves dragging five 91/30's out into the woods in snow were there are no trails, dragging 700 yards of power cord or a 120 pound power genny, plus the lights. It would take an entire day, I would freeze, hmmmmm.....let me think on that....done..no :)

well....here is a thought...the sun is 93 million miles away..the milky way edge is 1000 light years from earth..why would we be so silly and think we would feel the effect of the eclipse the moment it happened?? i would think it would take time to get here...just sayin.... :beek: :chuckles:
