receiver marks

Post by amm9130 »

My m44 carbine has the oval y mark on it which is final black powder proof and my m91/30 has the circle k mark which is point of aim proof. What does these marks mean in a little more detail?

You can also load them to photobucket and link them to the forum reply box.

The point of aim proof means that the sights are properly adjusted and it hits where you aim it. Black powder proof means that rifle was tested with black powder and passed the test . I can be wrong but this is what I was able to find on the subject .

Drat! I was hoping it meant it was kosher and I could look for a rifle that comes with chopped liver.

There's not a single place in this whole town where a guy can get a good sandwich like back home.

But the oriental food is excellent, so I guess there's the trade.
