My new 1932 Izhevsk

Post by Mike »

Did the transfer and picked this up from my FFL this morning.

I like this rifle, very good bore, excellent crown, nice smooth bolt. The rifle is not covered in stamps like my others, there is no referb mark on the metal at all, although the rifle obviously is a referb, for some reason it didn't get marked as such. The stock does have a referb mark, it also has a couple of nice repairs on it.

Range trip tomorrow. :)

Nice 32 hex Mike  31 receiver looks like. It also has the boobies mark on the stock, that mark was humorously much discussed here on the forum
a few months back. :D

Nice Mike! Love the 1313 crossed out on the mag. floor plate. For some reason the first thing that came to mind was the Munsters. That was their address, 1313 Mockingbird Lane. No idea why that came to mind. Damn I'm weird sometimes.

1931 receiver from maybe the end of the year with a 1932 barrel hung on it. Maybe done at refurb and it just came out that way? One will never be able to tell I am afraid. Stock repairs are interesting too! Congrats on a nice refurb! Bill

My hunch is that it was originally produced that way. A couple weeks ago I bought a really nice Izhevsk '32 hex refurb with the serial # 88885. I'll assume that mine is roughly 22,000 rifles later than the OP's. Mine also has a '31 reciever tang. My SWAG is that there was a huge surplus of stamped '31 recievers at the end of the year and a subsequent spill over into '32.
