Who wants 54r on strippers?
Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
Thanks for the photos. To me it looks at the moment as if there are two "groups" of unmarked Eastern Bloc MN stripper clips - a "Northern fraction" from Poland and Czechoslovakia, which have a relative dark, parkerized appearance and are a little bit higher when looked from the side (see my pictures above). To distinguish between Polish and Czech ones is really difficult - from the photos I've seen until now, I'd say that the Polish ones maybe are a little bit darker, but that's all. The "Southern fraction" comes from Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. They have a more shiny appearance and are a little bit shallower (about 1-2 mm) when looked from the side. Additionally the edges seem to be slightly dented here. But again it is difficult to distinguish these three countries. Maybe the Hungarian ones are the most shiny - similar to polished steel, but this is more an asumption at the moment based on just one single photo seen at 7.62x54r.net.

I'll make a short, but detailed pictorial presentation of my different MN stripper clips next month, when I'm back from a longer trip to South East Asia.

Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
Finally managed to figure out the exact meaning of the inscription (beginning with a small "B") on the Bulgarian ammo tin. Transliterated it reads as "v patr. temikniki" and actually means "on stripper clips".

Thanks for deciphering these cans 7x57.
Do you speak/read Russian or are you using a translation tool?

No, I don't speak Russian (or, like in this case, Bulgarian), but I can read the cyrillic characters and I'm not that bad in translating shorter text fragments with the help of a good dictionaryLee-online wrote:Thanks for deciphering these cans 7x57.

Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
See if you can translate a couple of these crate markings.
The top case should be 182gr lead core, copper Match bullet, Brass case.
And the second one up should be 300 rounds on strippers.
Thanks

Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
Those circle 10 blued clips are just like the ones I bought a few years ago on Ebay, which had come from cans like these and sold without the ammo. These look totally amazing.
Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
The first crate contains 450 rounds of target ("Ц") bullet with brass case ("гл") ammo - the red inscription also translates as "target"
The second crate holds 880 rounds of light steel core ("ЛПС") bullet with iron case ("гж") ammo. Same with the fourth crate.
The third crate contains 600 rounds of light ("Л") bullet (material not specified) with iron case ("гж") ammo on stripper clips - the second line means "airtight packaging", the first two words in the third line in front of "600" mean "on stripper clips".
I did not try to figure out the exact meaning of all that abbreviations on the right side of the crates - they are very likely lot numbers, production site designations, production dates and something like this.

Re: Who wants 54r on strippers?
I found more 54r on strippers for sale, this time in the more familiar spam can. 300 rounds. Site says most likely Russian or Yugo production.

I have some in the can, it's staying there, and I have some bought by the small box, others have shown it on the board before, it all looks the same.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
