Mosins in modern warfare
A few pictures of Mosins still in use. Northern Alliance fighters in Afghanistan, and a Russian sniper in Chechnya. Note the suppressed rifle slung on his back.

Also seeing action in Syria with the Free Syrian Army
Very strange to see them being aimed at people. A little unsettling. But I guess we all know where they came from and what their intent was.

I wish I could read what's written on the stock of that Mosin.
And I wonder if those Northern Alliance guys are still on our side.
That Mosin may be aiming at my son in law right now, for all I know.

They have all been aimed at people one time or another. Most have done more than just aim.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Mosins in modern warfare
If 17,000,000 or thereabouts were produced then there is a good possibility they are in virtually every country in the world.
Some of the pictures posted definitely illustrate that either they weren't refurbished or left the Motherland a long time ago.

Now I know why they still make repro sniper scopes and mounts, there must be a huge market for them amongst freedom fighters and insurgents (same thing, it just depends on your viewpoint).

What do you guys make of the rifle slung on the Russian sniper's back? It looks suppressed to me. It also looks dangerously close to having its muzzle in the mud.

I checked into that.. The inscription says "I am talking of Ramin," Which is a man's name.. Makes you wonder right there..
The symbol in red is the number four.

I wonder if the snipers they have are real ones from RGUNS, or if they got suckered into buying the Mitchell's snipers. At least if they bought the one's from Mitchell's, they get an Enemy at the Gates DVD with every purchase.
