1938/48 Tula 91/30 double date ex-pem sniper

Post by Steve The Pirate »

I picked this up a couple of years ago at a small gun show in town. It's a 1938/48 Tula 91/30 double date ex-pem sniper. There was only 1 other Mosin
Nagant there at the show. The seller had both. The only thing that caught eye at the time was the double date. Once I got it home and started to clean the
20 pounds of goo off I realized it was a ex-sniper as well.

They were made in the mid 30's to 1940 . They changed from top mount to side mount in 1938 and made over 19,000 that year. Some pictures.

I have one that is double dated but has no MO marking on it. The ex-snipers without refurbishment are the ones that fascinate me the most. How the devil and when did they get here? Nice rifle for sure with very polished blue! Bill

Nice rifle.
I was looking through a bunch of Mosins today and saw a 1942 Izhevsk ex PEM sniper, What the hey, might as well add it to my others.
