Snider range time

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Snider range time

Post by Darryl »

I am pumped! My heat rate must be above 200 and I've been back from the range for over an hour!

The Snider with my homemade rounds fired like a dream! I took it to the 25 yard line first and loaded up a round. I tied a string on the trigger and sand bagged it down. Pulled the string and it went "bang"! I had a big smile on my face you could see from the other end of the range! It didn't hit the target because I wasn't aiming it.

So I picked it up, shouldered it and fired 4 more rounds Standing. Look at the target below. Not bad for me. The range worker said, "it shooting high, take it to the 50 yard line", so I did.

I Fired the next 5 rounds standing and hit the black. The one next to the X was my last round. I had to aim just a touch right and a little down from the X to get there. I wanted more! Dang.....Out of ammo! Only had 10 rounds. For a carbine, I was startled...and my cast bullets really worked!.....I am so pumped up, I've got to make 20 more rounds or so! All the cases (10 of them) are now fire formed!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
