Re: Break out the popcorn; it's Part II of the M39 Sale.

It's funny. My wife and I bought a motorhome, so I was going to sell some off to fund some trips. I was going to start with four M39's- a,41 VKT, '42 Sako, ''42 B barrel, and '43 SKY. After all this, I think I'll put them back in the safe and find another funding source.

Re: Break out the popcorn; it's Part II of the M39 Sale.

On another note, two more SOG rifles have been posted. A low production 1940 VKT and a B barrel. Looks like they had a hell of a good group of M39's for anyone lucky enough to get one.

Re: Break out the popcorn; it's Part II of the M39 Sale.

It seems to me, instead of all this mystery, misrepresentation, and lies, there would have been a simple way for them to do this. If anything, it would have boosted their sales and caused less negative press. Why didn't they just say "We have purchased the Burns inventory of M39's. We will be r...

Re: Break out the popcorn; it's Part II of the M39 Sale.

Back to the thread. A guy posted online that he called Classic to order and asked for one with a hang tag. They told him there would be a $50 up charge for that. On an other note, there is an online discussion going on about how many and which rifles Classic actually bought from Burns. In that discu...

Check that. The guy with the '67 paid hand select, so he paid $359. It's AZF marked too.

Re: Break out the popcorn; it's Part II of the M39 Sale.

Wonder if SOG's inventory is from the same lot that Classic bought?... Definitely not. I find this hilarious. Everybody was salivating over the Classic lot. Here, all the time SOG had the M39's, but they were in the surplus category instead of C&R, so many people, myself included, missed them. ...

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

I think if Burns had a lot of stocks hanging around, they wouldn't have sold all those barreled actions.

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

I also don't think Burns ever offered these for sale either. Anyone I know that bought from Burns over the last several years had theirs delivered just like the four I bought from them. Wiped clean of grease, except for bolt, which was always so caked up you had trouble removing and taking it apart....

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

So these are basically the rifles Burns set aside because they were not up to their standard or didn't sell after listing on their site. I am sure there are nice ones in the lot but the odds of getting a crappy one out way the risks and cost. Classic posted a new video the other day of the second p...

Re: More M39s

I don't have Facebook, but a friend of mine does. He has seen several with cracks at the tang. I just saw another one posted that has no cracks in the stock. However, all the metal parts not only have pitting, but active rust. It's also a hand select. Again, it's too early to make a blanket judgemen...

Re: More M39s

It will be interesting how this turns out. I've seen a few of the early deliveries of the Classic M39's on other sites. One guy bought one. The other bought two. All hand select. The guy that bought one has already contacted Classic, sending it back. It looks like a shooter grade with big cracks in ...

Re: More M39s

Fascinating. The details, I mean. This has all been a rare behind the scenes look at the dealers' world that most buyers/collectors rarely see unless they are on the "in," which most of us are not. I've bought from Alden before. In addition to posting pics, he's a stand up guy who doesn't...

Re: More M39s

I'm not kidding. I've been following this M39 fiasco on any board I can find info. The owner of Mosin Crate has purchased in bulk from Classic before. In his own words on other sites- He spent a day or two at Classic helping them with knowledge, information, and helped sort them. In return, he was a...

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

As one other member mentioned, I wish I had A dollar for every time in the past you advised people to buy M39's while they still can. I got mine in the days I had funds, and prices were more reasonable. I'm glad I did.

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

Today Classic's status on their M39's is OUT OF STOCK....HUH?! Ten plus boxes are gone? They sold so many they have to stop selling them and re-group....Pat Burns never had such success!! How is this even possible? Marketing, fear, and frenzy buying. Same as when the Molots first hit...

Re: M39 Mosin-Nagant's for 350.00 at Classic Firearms

Part of the serious value of this site is the analysis of the "vets." While I don't always agree, I weigh what they say. And yes, it's kind of fun to try to unravel "The Mystery of the Classic M39s." :shifty: zeebill raises many good points, but one of the most salient is about ...
