Re: Self-Defence Guns
This is my carry gun; a S&W Model 638-3. I highly recommend it, but your will pay close to $500 new. I would not go cheap on something my life may depend on.

Well, bond carried a PPK, but there really isn't much difference.

At the Range with a Walther PP
Today I was shooting the classic Walther PP in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) at 20 yards on the IPSC Practice target. My single action shots were center of mass on the target, but the double action shots danced out of the center; mostly left. Ammo was PPU .32 Auto 71gr FMJ. The single action pull on this pistol ...

Re: .45 acp
Has anybody noticed one brand , or bullet type, that is more accurate in a 1911 than all the rest ? I know at least one 9mm and my Tokarev are more accurate with hollow point ammo. My 1911 shoots best with a 230 grain FMJ bullet. Federal, Winchester and Remington shoot equally well in the big Tauru...

Re: TSAIS 1911
What about adding to Condition 2: Hammer in half cock. It would be adding another safety wouldn't it, and know your gonna cock it anyway. I guess you could modify the condition in that way, but trusting a hammer notch as a safety is not something I have ever been willing to do. [/quote] Is it less ...

Re: TSAIS 1911
It's certainly a good-looking pistol. I love the military-style finish; really make's it authentic. Time to stock up on ammo!!

Re: TSAIS 1911
I have only heard good stuff about them. The thing is that CNC machines don't know what country they are working in. I haven't had a Tsais, but the Rock Islands that I had, in the past, were, as tools, as good as the Springfields and Colts; just not as pretty. That pic make it look very nice! How d...

Re: S&W M 15-3
I have an N-frame S&W Model 28 in .357 Magnum. I think I could put copious amounts for full magnum loads through it and not shoot it loose, but what's the point? I still shoot mainly .38 Special through it as well. It's also not a new revolver (1962 manufacture), although it is in beautiful con...

Re: S&W M 15-3
I was wrong about my son's gun; it is a model 19-3 Combat Magnum. You folks made me have to go dig it out. It is a really nice piece with only a little bluing wear on the cylinder, and muzzle, but no turn line, so it must have more time in the holster than on the range. When he went to Tennessee, h...

Re: New found Japanese type 99
The type 99 Arisaka is a great rifle. I only have one; an early 1941 vintage that had an intact and unblemished mum with aircraft sights attached. The gun dealer had it listed as a "Mauser" so they didn't even know what they had. I also knew very little about the rifles and still don't hav...

Re: News & Great News.......
I had some digestive problems a few years ago and after an upper endoscopy had symptoms of acid reflux or gerd. I took the protonix (proton pump inhibitor) for about two years. Now I just take over the counter stuff (Pepcid AC) for acid control. I have hear the drug is one of those that has some mod...

Re: Anderson AM-15 Range Time
This one holds ten, but the possibilities are infinite. I only put 20 rounds through the rifle on this trip. I'm going to try some at 200 yards next time out, but the shadows downrange at this time of year play tricks with my aging eyesight.

Anderson AM-15 Range Time
My very first attempt at a complete build may be the best. I took this rifle out of the safe where it had been idle for at least a year. The intention was to verify and refine scope settings and zero at 100 yards. After 10 rounds of Hornady .223 Remington 55-grain V-Max, I decided I didn't need to c...

Re: WTF Now.....!
I have an last minute scheduled appointment with my Urologist tomorrow, unless the issue warrants me going to the ER tonight. Other than the symptoms I'm having, which started at around 1500 today, I don't know what the Hell is going on or why. The last time this happened I was diagnosed with bladd...
