Gaston Glock Passing

R.I.P. Gaston Glock; 12-27-2023. He was 94. Say what you will about his ugly handguns, he changed the handgun industry forever. He'll be remembered along with other firearms greats like Samuel Colt, Bill Ruger, Johnathan Moses Browning; just to name a few. Every time I have picked up a Glock, it jus...

Re: Any S&W revolver gurus in here?

I am a member on the S&W Forum. I have no S&W pistols older than the 60's time frame, so I am unfamiliar with the revolver you have. Nevertheless, there are some real experts over there that will be able to answer all your questions. Just like this forum, it is free to join.

Re: Cz82 recoil

The 9x18 Makarov is about the most powerful cartridge the Soviets could put in a straight blowback action. Believe me, it's even worse recoil in the single stack PM-53 Makarov pistol with standard bakelite or plastic grip. I would not chage the recoil spring unless you are having problems with extra...

2022 Tacoma TRD Sport

I got a new ride yesterday. It's a 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. Had my old Tacoma for over 14 years and it probably would have kept going for years despite 160,000 tough miles. I just turned 72 last month and figured the time was right to get something newer. This was a lease turn in with only 12,0...

Re: Bad news.....

I hate that for your brother. Hope he recovers from surgery and gets back to a semi-normal life. Posts like this make me feel fortunate; my older brother is 76 and in pretty good shape, but at his age anything can happen. I'm starting to feel old at 72. Who knows what tomorrow brings. Every good day...

Great work. I was wondering if the whole forum was down for good. Thanks for your superb efforts.

I have to admit, I considered just walking away from it. :chuckles:
But, couldn't bring myself to do that

Re: Mosin Nagant 1943

Nice one!  I have two wartime 91/30's including a 1943 Izhevsk very similar to yours. The rifles from that era shows how desperate they were to crank them out as fast as possible. There was no thought of applying a nicely blued and polished finish. All the receivers were rough, ...

Re: Nagant revolvr info help

a Looking back I wish I purchased a Nagant Revolver back when the prices where better, as with a lot of other surplus guns. I hear you; guess you can't have everything. I was fortunate to purchase two M1895 Nagants from AIM Surplus about six years ago and was happy to get them at &169.95 each. ...

I think it is a Tula manufacture, but the sideplate is so heavily worn or sanded, I can't make out the year it was produced. :?

Re: Messrs. Smith and Wesson paid a visit today

Great find; Congratulations! You'll find it much more pleasant to shoot with some .38 Special ammo. Those full power magnums are not for the faint of heart. Yea, that is why I sold my .44 lightweight magnum a few weeks back. Good riddance. Well, if you can find a nice revolver in .44 Special, it is...

Re: AR Backup Sights

The only experience I have is with this rifle, a Colt M4 that has a Magpul MBUS mounted with a Vortex SPARC AR. I couldn't even call this a backup sight as I consider it part of the rifle's main sighting system. I have the optic mounted with enough riser to provide lower 1/3 coexistence with the red...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Welcome to the forum. These Mosin Nagant rifles tend to be addicting. Shooting them is a ton of fun. Finding them these days at a reasonable price is not so easy. Nevertheless, there were a ton of them made and a large number were imported to the US and elsewhere. Enjoy!
