Re: Mosin Nagant pricing: Interesting read
Unimaginable a few years ago my ass, I said this was going to happen 15 years ago when 91/30's sold for under a hundred bucks. I urged people to buy them cheap, and stack them deep. The Mosin is no different than any other surplus military rifle in that they start off selling cheap and are plentifu...

Re: Where can I find disk-style 7.62x54R headspace gauges like Okie or Firewerks?
I just procured a sweet M-38 in great condition that is not counterbored. I would like to find a set of the disk-style headspace gauges that do not require the removal of the extractor. Is there a current source for these? If you're still looking for a real set of 7.62x54R headspace gauges MoGunner...

Re: My first PEM scope
Hi all, New member here from Poland. Just wanted to say hello, and show my first PEM scope, which I finally bought. Since it`s not so easy anymore to find a real Sniper (not re-snipered) 91/30 in PL, I still looking for the legit one (PU) , but finally, I will buy one:) Huge respect for the great k...

The last transfer I had done, my guy just wanted the other guy's email, they took care of it. Cost me 25 for the transfer. They are quoting me $47.00 with the military discount for the transfer and 4377 call in...... We have an FFL finder on Gun-deals. It may have some that are no longer in busines...

Nice gun and a nice son. He is a good man, and my best friend. He is leaving the home place for Tennessee next month and I am going to miss him. He is leaving his collection here for a while until he gets the feel for the place and I am worried that it will have the house tilting on its foundation....

Re: PU sighting adjustments help
Before you start grinding on anything make sure you research what you're trying to achieve. Remember once metal is gone it can't be put back. I have two PUs and have never had to do much in the way of major adjustment. I did a through the bore sighting adjustment initially and some finer adjustments...

It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own consci...

Re: Where can I find disk-style 7.62x54R headspace gauges like Okie or Firewerks?
The fire ones came from China I think. Most cheap knockoffs do. Jim they're made in the US. The guy still has a website and get this, he stole the idea from Todd and has this on his site "THE ORIGINAL STAINLESS STEEL COIN-STYLE HEADSPACE GAUGE. Firewerks headspace gauges are the only coin-styl...

Re: Where can I find disk-style 7.62x54R headspace gauges like Okie or Firewerks?
I don't know if anyone is making them currently. Okie passed a way, and I don't know anything about fire werks. Todd told me that firewerks gauges were cheap counterfeits of his Okie gauges. The guy placed an order with him and then reversed engineered them. Todd was pissed because he said they wer...

Re: Long term storage/stock cracking
I've never had an issue like this either. I have my firearms in safes. I'm in northern Louisiana and have 18 Mosin Nagants among other types of rifles. I used to have them all in racks on the wall for years before I got the safes. The house temp. can go from the low 60s to as much as 85 and humidity...

Re: 1948 M44. Dark bore
I'm thinking it might be a firing pin issue.. The bore I don't think was a sewer pipe type rough, and he brushed it and patched it multiple times I have a spare bolt that we can try swapping parts out of.. I would have NEVER bought this gun, but I think he was in love with the stock. It IS a nice l...

No stripper clips, however those are the packages just degraded. He treated it as corrosive as I told him to... I don't think the ammo was bad if it was stored correctly, but for sure it had gotten wet hence me calling it flee market special... He got some silver tip surplus ( which I have a pile o...

Re: 1948 M44. Dark bore
I checked it and it was close to spec according to my original multi tool but slightly over, but it does not line up with the hash marks, not that they are the end-all.. I told him to pull it apart and clean it, and then the firing pin protrusion could be adjusted... I also told him that most of th...

Re: First time poster, question about a couple of shotguns.
This is interesting. I have a Stevens 620 12ga a friend gave me years ago that had a problem with the elevator that I fixed. It had a spring that was out of place if I remember correctly. Had a heck of a time figuring out how it broke down. It's a really nice gun but I just looked and it appears th...

Most oils, even synthetic are great for lubrication but not the best solvents or penetrating oil. Their purpose is stopping contact between two surfaces. You might try soaking the end of the barrel in some Hoppe's #9 to remove any remaining oil and then a good penetrating oil. I use Aero Kroil by K...
