Re: Another room done.
Nice job sir, homes out of plumb are a PITA. About 30 years ago I dated a gal who's ex was obsessive/compulsive and while wall papering a bathroom he discovered the walls where not square, so he gutted it to redo it. In the mean time he started checking every room in the house and found ever room wa...

Re: Steyr SSG69 / ZF84 Kahles sniper rifle
Thanks Gentlemen, now to secure some range time with it and see what she will do. I have an old 2006 Guns magazine with an article about that rifle. The guy gushes over it. If I can scan it, I'll send it to you. That would be fantastic sir. Just from doing some dry fire drills I have to say the 60°...

Re: Henry County Gun Club Vintage Sniper Rifle Shoot
It was a great time! My partner and I finished...well...somewhere below Miller Tyme, but had a ton of fun. If any of you all are within a reasonable drive, check out one of their monthly shoots. You won’t regret it. LOL, I got beat by 2 rifles I owned, one was my partners SOV, and the other I sold ...

Steyr SSG69 / ZF84 Kahles sniper rifle
Spent this past weekend in Paris Tenn. attending the Henry County Gun Club Vintage Sniper Rifle World Championship and came home with another toy, a virtually NIB 1986 Steyr SSG69 w/ Kahles ZF84 scope. Really looking forward to getting this to the range and doing a shoot out with my M40 20210509_132...

Henry County Gun Club Vintage Sniper Rifle Shoot
Spent this past weekend in Paris Tenn. attending the Henry County Gun Club Vintage Sniper Rifle World Championship. Had 15 teams shoot 6 different target packages 3 of which where either timed or speed packages. Spent Friday practicing with my partner and trying to dial in his new PU sniper without ...

Re: What is this? Izhevsk 1943 strange rifle
While both Poland and Hungary used beech stocks but the Hungarians used full sling slot liners. The deep bluing, including the front sling slot 1/2 liner, the pristine beech stock (no 02 mark, and it hasn't been sanded), the rear sight in the white (never seen it on a Hungarian PU) make me believe t...

Re: What is this? Izhevsk 1943 strange rifle
More pics of the rifle are needed, the whole rifle, most of the pics are of the scope, but I stand by my belief that it " might " well be a Polish refurbed PU. I have one and this one bears some similarities to it, but with out better pics it is just MHO. Here is a Polish refurbed PU snipe...

If you show me the import marks on that rifle, I'll tell you what I know about that rifle. Miller, is that a brazed on end on that cleaning rod? LOL I might just leave this one to Miller! :chuckles: Darryl I saw it yesterday Dolk and really want to give it a good once over when I get home this even...

Re: Sniper rear sight
My BS meter is going off, this reminds me of the drifted front sight theory to tell a real sniper from a reproduction. I have 1/2 a dozen Russian PU snipers and they are split about 50/50 between the 2 rear sight slider styles. More than likely it was a change in production design to speed up produc...

Re: My first post and of course it "Is my gun authentic?"
The parts are all legit. The barrel shank appears to have been scrubbed where the scope s/n usually goes. The scope mount ep'ing looks good and the bolt looks ok. Now that said some may question if this is a ex-sniper that was resnipered due to the lack of the scope number being reapplied. But it is...
