Ruger Old Army range time

I could not decide the other day which black powder revolver to take to the range between the 1847 Walker, the 1860 Colt Army, or the 1851 Navy. So I took the Ruger Old Army and dang does that gun ever punch some big beautiful holes! I bought this revolver used about 35 years ago and never understoo...

Re: Single action rimfires

That is nice Sonny. You are gonna like it I think. The front sight blade is really thin so if you carefully center it up it’ll shoot good I’ve found but if you have a little more daylight in the rear sight on one side it’ll be inches of. I think that is typical peacemaker style revolver shooting. Th...

That is by far the best price I have heard of. Congrats on that. Do you have any of the elusive ammo for it?

New Blackhawk grips

Headed to the range for a little therapy. I just installed a new set of hand made grips on my Blackhawk 45 Colt. If anyone is interested in grips for a Ruger revolver I’d recommend looking at Chigs Grips. Chad is a master at his trade in my opinion. These were made from Marble Cake English Walnut. M...

Re: Model 1892 Krag

These are great rifles and a pleasure to shoot. I bought all the components and a Lee loader and it works perfect for building some great shooting ammo. 308 bullets and any number of rifle powders

Re: Single action rimfires

Single action rimfires

I have really enjoyed buying and shooting single action revolvers. All of these are 22’s except the top one, which is a 17 HMR. I would really like a Ruger in a birds head grip but had to go with the Rough Rider to get one. Shoots great and has the magnum cylinder too. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.c...

That is a good looking 91/59. I only have one but that’s all I need since it shoots so good

Made a good trade

There was a time when you could trade your accumulated Ammo for good stuff you needed, but nowadays it’s the other way around. Traded a old chain saw to a buddy who no longer needed this spam can of Mosin food. I made out real good, and my buddy was happy as a clam https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2...

Is the ammo situation getting worse?

Reloading components are out of control too. I’m seeing people paying up to 150.00 for a box of 1000 primers. I saw a dealer at the gun show last month getting 125.00 for a 150 rd box of brass case 115 gr 9mm AMMO.

Re: Nasty bastards

Steve that truly sucks. Insurance will cover the repairs if he had coverage. Years ago I was working for Midas and a customer came in with a roaring pickup. His converter was unbolted on both ends and stolen while in airport parking. They have Rhodium and Platinum and other precious metals in them t...

Navy Arms 1861 Colt Navy Replica

I need a 1861 like that. I did buy 4 different revolvers, 2 of which are 36 caliber and I really enjoy shooting the 36, but mine are 1851 Colt Navies. I think the primary difference is the barrel being octagonal on the 1851's. In the picture the 1851 is on top, with the Walker in the middle, and bot...

Re: USPS BS

I have a friend that is a mail carrier here in N Texas. We were just talking about this. They are short handed and evidently in many areas. Some are short handed because they need to hire more people, but here at least they are short handed because a lot of carriers are just not coming to work. They...

Yeah for sure I'm glad I don't need anything. I ain't paying it in the first place. Reloading primers for 120-150 per thousand. No I don't think so.

Gun show prices

Last year I found my favorite practice 9mm ammo for target shooting. Browning 115 gr 9mm in the yellow and black boxes. 150 rounds for 25.99. At the gun show today I saw a dealer with a table full of these same boxes for 125.00 ea. I understand we are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse but there i...
