Re: Molot Snipers? Whats the word these days

Miller Tyme, I read your posts on those two! Very nice indeed. My feelings based on my own Molot and what I have seen elsewhere is they are legit. At least the PU snipers so far. My own is not what one would consider "purty" but it was what I could get locally last year. http://i75.photobu...

Re: Molot Snipers? Whats the word these days

Most of my goods are already designated to the 3 Boys! They'd have a hard time prying it loose from them! Good to hear from you too Jim! Wyatt and I have taken up tomahawk throwing this fall. Made homemade apple cider with a buddy. Helped another bag his first Elk, an old 3 X 5. Thick and heav...

Molot Snipers? Whats the word these days

Hey guys, whats the consensus these days on the Molot Snipers? I've been busy and out of the loop a few months, happens. Been looking through old posts and it seems that the majority still question the authenticity? Just an FYI, Mine has been shooting great.

Be careful Target, the PU substrain of Mosinitus can be very dangerous to the bank account! Hope it works out, and will be waiting for pics!

Re: Relatively cheap PU (type) scope covers

Covers by themselves have been tough to find. Mostly they have to be bought from Russia and run $50 to $60 each with shipping. And since the Molot imports do not come with one it has created demand. I was seriously lucky getting the one I did about a week ago locally! (had to cover a shift last Sund...

Re: Here's something you don't see too often...

Nice "Molot" Might just be one that even the nay sayers could like. As I have mentioned before, each one has to be evaluated on its own merits. And I see enough so far that I am comfortable with them. Of the military versions, no one has yet posted up one that screams fakery or ...

Re: LGS Sniper... what's it worth?

I wonder what happened that someone had to get rid of it, death, divorce, or destitution. Disinterest, disenchantment, and many other things in life could easily be added on to the reasons. I had 5 or 6 at one time and I only have 2 left and rarely shoot them. They just don't do anything for me any...

Re: Is This a Bubba, or Not? What Say You?

Looks to me to be an M44, notice what appears to be a bayonet relief cut on the stock. The "blob" around the base may be part of one of those leaves seen in the barrel behind him and being used for camo that is not seen in the picture. Interesting that they are getting scout scope mounts. ...

Re: Interesting thread concerning Molot rifles

As I see it, the problem is not importing the Mosin rifles into the U.S. on our end. It is the export restrictions of the Russian Federation that necessatate making the Molot a designated "hunting" rifle. Some time back the Russians barred, by law, the export of Russian historical artifact...

Re: LGS Sniper... what's it worth?

Miller Tyme and desdem 12 are right on the money. Molot refurbs are running in the $600 range. Doesn't Molot use those Ukrainian repro scopes produced somewhere in the early 2000's? No, they are using genuine WWII components. My Molot was confirmed by the Management here to be Genuine WWII parts. T...

Don't think so, you can see the machine marks in the marking.

The ultra white background gives the picture a funny appearance, very contrasting.
