Nice Dolk, looks to have been well taken care of. Will be interested in a range report when you get to it. I have been pondering one of these myself, so will follow this along as you try her out!

Re: Happy Birthday Marines with a few Mosins
I saw lots of odd stuff in Thailand in 1988. A mosin in Grenada is not at all that far fetched.

Re: Two Tula refurbs you might never come across in person
My educated guess would be that the 5-line Tula barrel was a left over in the parts bin used in early 1929 production. And the '41 Izhevsk makes sense as they were probably using left over 1940 Tula barrels. I believe Tula was not in actual M91/30 production in 1941, and that Tula parts were shipped...

Re: Two Tula refurbs you might never come across in person
I have to wonder if that 1929 is not a 1926 with the 6 upside down? Whats the tang date say?
As for the 40 / 41 Tula, that is weird that they would change the date. whats the tang date on it?

Nice finds! Great pricing can still happen. Not all the dealers have caught on as to what is rare and not in regards to Mosins!

Re: Mystery Sniper?
Hey Gary, I have a fair gap of time between my USMC days and starting in Law Enforcement. I'm an "Old Guy" by age and the fact that nearly 8 years is a long time to be with this small S.O. This is my later in life career thanks to Michigans economic down fall that started back in 2004. I w...

Maybe Marcus will chime in on this, you may want to send him a PM. If anyone has some info on off the wall Russian snipers, it'd be him or someone he knows.

[quote="cjsimoh" If it was part of the Polar Bear Expedition, it doesn't look like it saw a lot of action or field use... This one may have stayed stateside. Is there a way to tell if it went to Russia?[/quote] Most likely it stayed stateside, but having the U.S. acceptance marks is rare w...

Re: 1947 Izhevsk PU sniper / Showcase Submission
Any chance that you could post some comparison pictures from your 1947 PU Zeebill? Might bring some clarity to the Molot questions. How close is your serial number to Miller Tymes?

Not sure myself just what is going on with the NEW, would be nice to see more pics.
The Remington you NEED to get, It has U.S. military acceptance marks and that is very uncommon. Possible use by North Russian Expeditionary Forces in 1919, gets my attention very quick!

Hey Mike! Splitting wood is one of those activities I generally enjoy. I went out for an hour after I posted up here and split some more. Only use a splitting maul and it is a great workout. And I prefer natural work outs over artificial use of machines! There's a toughness of character that c...

Re: Molot Snipers? Whats the word these days
Jim, I have not bought a new firearm since the last Savage Lee-Enfield I posted about here a few months back. Things are a little dry and prices high when a milsurp turns up lately. Big R has been out of Mosins for some time and Big 5 has not had any diamonds in the rough. Saving a few pennies here ...
