Re: zeebill's horse of another color
Very cool  But, who would chamber such a pistol in 7.62x25? Think Korean or Vietnam capture/recapture Or china?? Mind you we gave alot of weapons to china during WWII. I have a S&W victory model in 38special, and it was a lend lease to china, and has chinese police markings......

Re: zeebill's horse of another color
That's really interesting! I bet that one would be a lot of fun to shoot. Alot less snap than a 45acp. Brass ejects kinda funny, some seems to fly to the right, some strait up and back at you. That was chinese Norinco yellow box I shot yesterday though. I don't remember what the ammo i first shot i...

zeebill's horse of another color
You folks have heard of zeebills 1911 that is chambered in 7.62x25, well here it is. I've shot it a few times, and I have to say it is alot more fun than a regular 1911. Only thing in the gun that has been changed is the mag and barrel, the mag is I believe made from a Tokarov magazine, but we haven...

Re: Best Range day of my life!
If not Joe I will get some pictures on my next visit. Don't store those M39's to deep because I want to look those over too. The last 1911 you showed me had been all around the world with painted chicken scratches all over it. Always enjoy seeing odd things at Bill's place, I usually walk away so m...

Re: Best Range day of my life!
You were obviously using The Force Bill, Kroil? Kroil is my secret weapon for freeing up ancient rusty auto parts so I can charge more for them on ebay. I use it when taking apart 100 year old phonograph reproducers also, it eats part the crud on brass parts so I can get the tiny screws out without...

Re: 1938 91/30 round receiver Izhevsk trouble maker
Take it to a gunsmith. You should not be firing a defective firearm. God Bless America  Bill and I have worked on 100's, if not 1000's of mosins, and fixed every problem imaginable, I can safely bet we know more about a mosin than any gunsmith here in WV, hell I might go as far and say some so...

Re: gun show prices
Depends on where you are, yes refurbs are way too high. 91/30's all the way around are hard to come by and high in price. As far as mil-surps not moving, this weekend was very successful for zeebill and I, sold a T53, M38, 2 91/30's a M91, and a chinese 22 single shot trainer. Along with that we sol...

Re: Headspace Concern.
Check the rifle first. Rarely will one not headspace. As said above, normally just a different bolt head will fix it.

Re: Jungle fireball
I have seen many T 53's, M44s, and a few M38, that look to be bring backs, but without papers they are not bringbacks. Story or not proof or not.

Re: zeebill's m27rv
I believe the sling and bayonet were added in this country but do not know for sure. This rifle came from SOG in a deal where all 3 Finnish rifles were for $120 I was told by the owner but I paid a bit more Rofl. It came with an early 28/30 and a double sling slot M28 both of which I did own at one...

Re: 22 trainer for the collection
I havent disassembled it yet but there is no visible import mark. I'll let you know and post pic if I find one. If it was a Williams it would be on left side of receiver. It is roll marked or very nicely lazer engraved. Williams is the company with them right now, but they are a wholesale only comp...

Maybe we need a set of those gauges that Alex sold a while back that check the receiver recesses and such?
I'm stumped bill.

Re: 1938 91/30 round receiver Izhevsk trouble maker
Glad bill posted this in here. This thing is a bastard child for sure. I have played with it, shot till my shoulder was sore, Bill too, and it's left us both stumped. It will unlock a fired round just fine, it's when the knob is strait up, and you try to pull out that case, it binds up. First I thou...

I don't know about the russians having a silenced mosin, but i have a 91/30 action off at a buddies shop being threaded for a silencer I have in jail right now.... I won't give any further info, as I'm sure you purists just had to change underwear  Not at all, I would not be the one going to F...
