Re: need help at gun show 1944 m39 vkt

The trigger on my 1944 VKT M39 behaves the same way. Does not negatively impact accuracy.

TopperT,

By all means feel free to use the pictures. Also the facebook page for pleasant river fish and conservation has lots of good photo's of the event.
Just be sure to let me know if your club hosts a Mosin event:-)

Re: 10th annual Frozen Mosin

Thanks guys. I know what you mean about switching ammo johnnyboy. I switched in between the 2 targets in the speed shoot. I was using Tula for the relay and first target of the speed shoot, then went to surplus out of the spam can. Scored well on the first target, second one was all over the place. ...

10th annual Frozen Mosin

Just got back from northern Maine attending the Frozen Mosin shoot. A good group of hearty souls including two members of this forum braved the cold and snow to compete with their Mosins. The three position relay was shot at 100 yards, 12" gong was at 200 yards, and the rapid fire was at 25 ft....

Very nice Dave! Can't beat quality time with the grandchildren. Great grades and a confident shooter. Two outstanding qualities.

Re: planned on a nice sunday shoot, but.

It's a six hour ride for me. Got my room booked in Machias. I'll be bringing my Finn as well. Monday the 17th is a holiday at work so I'll add a little snowshoeing at Acadia National Park while I'm up there. Would be nice if fellow forum members can make the trek.

Same weather here in NH but I'm still shooting my Mosin today. Have to get ready for the tenth "Frozen Mosin and Frostbite Extravaganza" up your way next month.

Had it been me finding a Hungarian M44 at a LGS, at that price, the thread would read "Look at what I just scored!). I hope you are on the way to the store as I write this:-)

Nice shooting! The longer sight radius with those Tech sights seems to have paid off. Thinking about putting some on my AMD 65.

That's it! You guys are out there scooping up all the good Mosin's. Now I have to make some detours on my way home from work to see if I can have a turn at getting a good find. Congrats on your M91 Finn. Now you owe us a range report.

Re: M39 never fails to impress me.

I must admit I painted my front sight bright white. The POA is right on the chin, so mine shoots a little high as well. It also had to learn a good cheek weld that is comfortable and doesn't give me the "double image front sight".

Thanks guys. Some more trigger time and I'll be ready for the "Frozen Mosin" match up in Maine this Winter. Next good weekend I'll try the same set up with my 42 Tula.

M39 never fails to impress me.

Is been quite a while since I've had time to shoot the old Mosin. Did some silhouette shooting over the summer. Using a Marlin 30-30, and a CZ 455 .22cal. Some of the posts here on the forum touting the accuracy of the Mosin got me itching to send some lead down range. Set up in the backyard with a ...
